Water Efficiency Calculations for new-build dwellings and conversions in England
Water Efficiency Calculations have been a requirement under building regulations since 6th April 2010. Part of Approved Document G, these regulations form part of the UK Government’s strategy to ensure the country is prepared for future climate conditions, including rising average summer temperatures and reduced summer rainfall.
For all new-builds and conversions completed after 6th April 2010, water usage is limited to 125 litres per person per day. Local planning authorities also have the option to reduce this target to 110 litres per person per day if required.
