SAP Calculations for new-build dwellings, conversions and extensions in England
All new buildings in England & Wales are required to have a standard assessment procedure (SAP) calculation, which quantifies energy performance in terms of heating, lighting and ventilation. The calculation also comprises the fabric and structure of the building, the type and efficiency of thermal insulation in place, and any renewable technology installed.
SAP Calculations are used to demonstrate compliance with Part L1 of the Building Regulations. The need for a SAP Calculation applies to any new dwelling, including a home conversion and it applies to some extensions. Like all providers, our SAP Calculations are carried out 'off plan' and we do not carry out site visits. We will ask you for plans, building specifications and construction notes so please gather this information for us. Once the SAP Calculation has been finalised and the building is complete, we will be able to produce an As Built EPC for your property (On Construction EPC). We are a very eco-aware Company and firmly support the fight against climate change and believe that by achieving building regulation targets, we are making progress within the construction and property industry to reduce carbon emissions. With so many new renewable technologies coming into the forefront of housing design, this is indeed a very exciting and progressive time within our industry. |
